We are seeking a skilled, energetic, and engaging Public Address (PA) Announcer to become the voice of Toronto Tempo during home games across Canada. This role plays a key part in delivering an unforgettable live game experience—energizing fans, sharing key game information, and supporting the overall entertainment production that makes Tempo events electric.

Job Summary

The PA Announcer will serve as the official in-arena voice of Toronto Tempo, responsible for delivering real-time game announcements, energizing the audience, and supporting the game presentation team.

The ideal candidate brings strong vocal presence, excellent timing, audience awareness, and knowledge of basketball and live event production. This individual will work closely with production staff, hosts, DJs, and the game presentation team to deliver accurate announcements and maintain an exciting atmosphere throughout every event.

Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesGame Day Production

  • Deliver real-time game information including player introductions, scores, fouls, timeouts, and in-game promotions
  • Use vocal performance to enhance excitement, maintain audience focus, and elevate the overall fan experience
  • Adapt vocal delivery to match the energy of the crowd and pace of the game
  • Announce special events, contests, giveaways, and sponsor messages with clarity and enthusiasm
  • Ensure announcements are professional, accurate, and aligned with team messaging
  • Collaborate with game presentation staff, hosts, DJs, and production teams to execute cues and timing
  • Follow scripts, cue sheets, and production notes accurately during live events
  • Adjust announcements in real time for schedule changes, game delays, or special promotions
  • Communicate clearly with production staff regarding timing, game updates, or technical needs
  • Support arena entertainment initiatives, theme nights, and special segments
  • Maintain composure under pressure in a loud, high-energy environment
  • Represent the organization professionally on and off the court

Rehearsals & Preparation

  • Attend all scheduled rehearsals, training sessions, and run-throughs
  • Review scripts, roster information, and promotional materials prior to tip-off
  • Conduct sound checks and coordinate with technical staff if issues arise

Physical Demands

  • Ability to walk, stand, and go upstairs for extended periods of time
  • Comfortable working in loud, crowded, dynamic environments

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Previous PA announcing, broadcasting, or public speaking experience requiredPrevious performance experience in front of live audiences required
  • Knowledge of basketball rules, player positions, and game flow preferred
  • Strong timing, improvisation, and audience awareness skills considered an asset
  • Highly energetic individual able to bring hype and good vibes to every Tempo eventStrong understanding of game presentation operations preferred
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and after hours during the Tempo season
  • May need to travel across Canada for national events

Pay: $200.00-$220.00 per day
