We’re looking for a charismatic, confident, and quick-thinking In-Game Host to energize the arena and elevate the fan experience during Toronto Tempo home games across Canada.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on stage, reads a crowd effortlessly, and keeps the energy high in a fast-paced live sports environment.
Job Summary
The In-Game Host is responsible for engaging thousands of fans through live entertainment, on-court promotions, crowd interaction, scripted segments, and spontaneous moments throughout the game.
This individual will work closely with the game presentation team, producers, and entertainment staff to deliver high-energy segments that keep fans excited from tip-off to the final buzzer.
The In-Game Host will be responsible for attending all Toronto Tempo home games
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Game Presentation & Execution
- Serve as the primary on-court personality during games, delivering high-energy entertainment and crowd interaction
- Host in-arena promotions, contests, sponsor activations, and fan participation segments
- Encourage crowd involvement to maintain energy during breaks in play
- Adapt delivery style in real time based on audience response
- Execute scripted segments accurately while maintaining natural, engaging delivery
- Deliver sponsor messaging clearly while maintaining entertainment value
- Collaborate with producers, directors, and game presentation staff to ensure timing precision
- Follow cue sheets, production timelines, and broadcast coordination
- Work closely with entertainment teams, DJs, mascots, dancers, and technical staff to provide a smoothly executed game day for fans
- Transition smoothly between segments without disrupting game flow
- Engage fans of all ages in a positive, inclusive, and professional manner
- Conduct interviews or quick fan spotlights when appropriate
- Support theme nights and special arena events with tailored hosting style
Physical Demands
- Ability to walk, stand, and go upstairs for extended periods of time to engage fans across the entire arena
- Comfortable working in crowded, dynamic environments for extended periods of time
Qualifications / Requirements
- Previous experience working as an in-game host, sideline reporter, or equivalent required
- Highly energetic individual that can bring hype and good vibes to every Tempo event
- Knowledge of basketball considered an asset
- Strong understanding of game presentation operations preferred
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and after hours during the Tempo season
