Position Overview

TLH Reckoning is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Coaching (DOC) to lead the next phase of growth.

This role offers the opportunity to build on an existing foundation, elevate the club’s development model, strengthen the coaching staff, and expand grassroots reach, all while keeping player development at the center.

The DOC will serve as the technical and cultural leader of the academy, working closely with club leadership to elevate standards, unify methodology, and grow the club’s footprint in the Tallahassee community and Southeast region.


Key Responsibilities

(All responsibilities will be carried out alongside Dr. Ashlee Fontes, CEO)

Player Development & Coaching

  • Coach 1–2 youth academy teams
  • Attend all tournaments and game play events
  • Lead and manage training sessions and programming
  • Support and manage the college recruiting process
  • Utilize local resources to enhance programming (analytics, performance, learning tools)
  • Participate in USL W League team activities including coaching and player development

Staff Development & Leadership

  • Build and maintain a strong coaching staff across all programs
  • Mentor and guide coaches using advanced technical knowledge
  • Deliver internal and external coaching education opportunities
  • Ensure alignment with the club’s game model and methodology
  • Conduct monthly meetings and provide regular feedback
  • Provide annual (and semi-annual where needed) written evaluations
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management of staff

Culture & Club Identity

  • Reinforce a club-wide culture rooted in shared values and standards
  • Ensure alignment with the club’s mission and vision
  • Foster a collaborative and positive environment across all programs
  • Maintain strong relationships with players, parents, staff, and community partners

Program Oversight & Operations

  • Oversee all soccer programs across assigned campuses
  • Align all programming with technical direction and methodology
  • Collaborate on camps, clinics, tournaments, and recruitment initiatives
  • Manage tryouts, player selection, and team formation
  • Coordinate training schedules across teams and locations
  • Oversee player evaluation processes
  • Support development of events such as ID clinics and tournaments

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of the club’s strategic plan
  • Maintain player and coach development documentation
  • Conduct annual program reviews
  • Assist with budgeting for coaching, training, and equipment
  • Lead parent education initiatives
  • Support registration growth efforts
  • Promote the club within the community
  • Oversee execution of club tournaments and events
  • Attend board meetings and provide monthly reports
  • Represent the club at league meetings

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of coaching experience (youth club experience required)
  • Previous leadership experience (Director, Technical Lead, or similar)
  • USSF B License minimum (A License preferred) or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of player development in the women’s game
  • At least 2 years of collegiate or professional playing experience

Schedule & Requirements

  • Full-time, year-round position
  • Evenings, weekends, and travel required
  • Background check and SafeSport certification required

  • Act as an ambassador for the club

  • Participate in club events, outreach, and community engagement
  • Represent the club professionally with all stakeholders
