Summary Description
The Senior Development Coordinator is a vital member of the USA Gymnastics Foundation team, responsible for managing administrative functions, supporting fundraising operations, and ensuring donor data integrity. This role works closely with the Executive Director to oversee CRM management, annual giving, events, communications, and fundraising initiatives.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, proactive, and an excellent writer with proven experience in nonprofit CRM platforms, annual fund & grant writing, and planning successful events.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fundraising Communications & Writing- Oversee and produce compelling content for annual fund including, newsletters, social media, fundraising campaign copy, event invitations, and donor communications to drive engagement and giving.
- Support the creation, coordination, and distribution of annual fund direct mailings.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with Foundation messaging.
- Create, design, and manage donor giving pages to deliver an intuitive donor experience, streamlined organization, and accurate reporting.
- Identify grant opportunities from foundations and corporations. Write clear and compelling letters of inquiry and grant applications. Manage timelines, gathering and collecting relevant data, and supporting documentation.
Fundraising and CRM Operations
- Manage all aspects of gift processing and donor relations, including entry, reconciliation, acknowledgments, and fulfillment.
- Maintain development calendars and respond promptly to donor inquiries with a customer service mindset.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality while managing imports, segmenting audiences, and generating lists for appeals and communications.
Events, Projects & Fundraising Support
- Provide direct support to the Executive Director to enhance development strategies and processes.
- Coordinate and assist in the planning and execution of virtual and in-person events, including fundraising events, board meetings, donor meetings, and stewardship activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to advance the Foundationβs fundraising and development objectives.
Requirements and Competencies
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Skilled in donor databases/CRM management with attention to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Proactive problem-solver able to balance multiple priorities.
- Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
- Strong customer-service mindset with a focus on donor relationships.
- Ability to plan and support virtual and in-person events.
- Passion for the mission of USA Gymnastics Foundation and supporting athletes.
Education and Experience
- Bachelorβs degree preferred.
- At least 3-4 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or donor relations.
- Experience with Virtuous CRM or similar donor management platforms.
- Understanding in working with foundations and grant writing processes.
- Background or interest in gymnastics or the sports nonprofit sector is a plus.
Other Information
- Full-time position based in Indianapolis, IN or remote.
- Annual salary: $60 -$70,000, with health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.

- Evening or weekend work may occasionally be required to support donor or Foundation events.
