Job Summary:
Linfield University, a proud member of NCAA Division III and the Northwest Conference, invites applications for the position of Head Lacrosse Coach. This full-time position is responsible for all aspects of leading and managing a competitive intercollegiate lacrosse program that reflects the university's values of academic excellence, integrity, diversity, and student-athlete success. Position reports to the Athletic Director.
Work Schedule: Days, evenings, and weekends as dictated by the Lacrosse practice, game, and recruiting schedule.
Responsibilities:
•Provide leadership, organization, and supervision for all aspects of the women’s lacrosse program
•Follow all NCAA Division III, Northwest Conference, and Linfield University rules and regulations, and meet or exceed the expectations outlined in the athletic department’s policies and procedures manual
•Actively recruit student-athletes that will succeed academically at Linfield University and enhance the level of competition for the women’s lacrosse program within the NWC and NCAA Division III
•Manage the women’s lacrosse budget, following purchasing and spending guidelines as set by the university and the athletic department
•Hire, train, and supervise part-time assistant coaches for the women’s lacrosse program
•Schedule contests with consultation and final approval from the athletic director, and coordinate all travel arrangements for the team
•Conduct a fall training session, in compliance with NCAA and NWC regulations
•Cultivate a positive team image, promote and support the overall student-athlete experience, and aid in the academic, athletic, and social development of student-athletes
•Perform other duties as assigned by the athletic director
Knowledge & Skills
•Clear understanding and knowledge of the sport of women’s lacrosse
•Strong recruiting and coaching skills
•Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with current student-athletes and alumni
•Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Understanding of and commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy and the role of athletics within a private, liberal arts/comprehensive university
•Willingness to fundraise
•Ability to effectively and professionally collaborate and communicate with a variety of constituents, including current students, parents, alumni, departmental staff, faculty, and administration

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of women’s lacrosse coaching experience, or an equivalent combination of education, coaching, and/or playing experience • CPR/First Aid certification required (may be obtained on the job) • Valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications
• Previous coaching and recruiting experience at the NCAA Division III level Physical Requirements • Work is physical in nature, requiring constant walking, standing, talking, seeing, and hearing • Ability to physically demonstrate lacrosse techniques • Occasional sitting and desk work
