Greenville, Illinois, Greenville University is seeking a Full-time Head Women’s Gymnastics Coach. The Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Women’s Gymnastics program at Greenville University. This includes, but is not limited to, the organization and execution of practices, competitions, recruitment, team development, and administrative duties. The Head Coach will build a program respected for its commitment to the mission and core values of Greenville University. The Head Coach will embody the university’s commitment to Christ-centered education and be a positive role model for student-athletes, fostering growth in character, academics, and athletic excellence. The Head Coach must provide evidence of a vibrant Christian faith, clearly understand and internalize the mission of Greenville University, and articulate the value of Christian higher education.

Duties and Responsibilities

Program Leadership: Plan, schedule, and oversee practices, competitions, and travel arrangements.

Recruitment: Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy, including outreach, communication (emails, calls, letters), campus visits, and managing social media platforms for the women’s gymnastics program.

Player Development: Design practice sessions to improve athletes’ technical skills

Academic Oversight: Monitor and support the academic progress of women’s gymnastics team members, encouraging excellence in the classroom.

Spiritual Mentorship: Foster spiritual growth among athletes through Bible studies, one-on-one mentoring, and character-building activities.

Event and Game Day Coordination: Organize and oversee the women’s gymnastics team's schedule in both home and away competitions.

Fundraising and Community Engagement: Lead fundraising initiatives to support the program and build relationships with alumni, donors, and the local community.

Administrative Duties: Maintain compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations; manage budgets and necessary reporting; manages inventory.

Management: Manages the day-to-day operations of the women’s gymnastics program and supervise the women’s gymnastics staff which includes a graduate assistant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supports, coaches and guides student-athletes to perform to their highest physical potential in their sport.

Agreement with the purpose of Greenville University and demonstration of a mature Christian faith.

Leadership, initiative, strong written and verbal communication skills, and administrative ability.

The selected candidate must abide by and comply with NCAA and NCCAA conference rules, academic standards, requirements, and policies of the University, and all guidelines and policies of the Athletic department and reports any concerns of compromise or violation of rules, standards, guidelines or policies to the Director of Athletics or the Associate Director of Athletics.

Assist with compliance issues and help monitor academic eligibility in coordination with our compliance director.

Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Performs other job duties as assigned. Experience :

· At least 2 years of coaching experience in the field of Women’s Gymnastics programs at the college/university level is preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Comprehensive understanding of women’s gymnastics at the collegiate level.

Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills.

Proven ability to mentor, inspire, and develop student-athletes.

Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of coaching.

Knowledge of safety standards in women’s gymnastics

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with a diverse population.

Ability to instruct in applicable areas.

Proficiency with basic computer applications and social media platforms.

Working Conditions :

Physical Environment:  Work is routinely performed both indoor and outdoor, in office environment and in gyms, on playing fields, and other recreational environments.

Physical Demands:  Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, running, jumping, kneeling, pushing and pulling, climbing, stooping, occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds, travel to and from athletic events.

Mental Demands:  Fast paced environment. Ability to identify and support students in stressful, game related situations.

Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
