Position Summary
The Group Sales & Fan Experience Intern will support the Orlando Valkyries’ group ticket sales efforts and premium fan experience programs, working closely with the Group & Season Ticket Sales Manager to drive group bookings, service existing group accounts, and deliver memorable experiences for fans attending matches. This role blends sales activity with hospitality and event execution, offering a well-rounded look at how a professional sports team grows its fan base and builds lasting community relationships through group engagement. This position is ideal for a student who is energetic, people-oriented, and eager to develop a foundation in sports sales and fan experience.
Key Responsibilities
Group Sales & Outreach
- Assist with outbound sales efforts targeting schools, youth sports organizations, churches, nonprofits, and corporate groups.
- Support the development and distribution of group sales proposals, flyers, and promotional materials.
- Help manage and update group prospect lists and track outreach activity in the CRM system.
- Participate in sales training sessions and team meetings to develop core selling skills.
- Assist in identifying new group sales opportunities through community research and event calendars.
Account Servicing & Group Experience
- Support the coordination of group experiences including pre-game on-court activations, group seating arrangements, and themed night packages.
- Serve as a point of contact for group leaders during home matches, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience.
- Help manage group ticket fulfillment, seat assignments, and special accommodation requests.
- Assist with post-event follow-up communications to group leaders for renewal and referral outreach.
- Help coordinate birthday packages, youth group experiences, and other premium group add-ons.
Game Day & Event Support
- Assist with game day group hosting, hospitality setup, and fan activation areas.
- Represent the Valkyries at community events, group sales presentations, and promotional appearances.
- Support the ticketing team with fan entry, ticket resolution, and general guest services during home matches.
- Perform additional group sales and fan experience duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Outgoing, enthusiastic personality with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Genuine interest in sales, customer service, and creating exceptional fan experiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort making outbound calls and engaging with group leaders, coaches, and community organizations.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays — home match dates are required.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Passion for sports, community engagement, and fan experience.
Education & Experience
- Currently working toward a degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Prior experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, or event coordination is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (Archtics, Ticketmaster, or similar) or CRM platforms is a plus.
