Join the newest addition to the WNBA family as we bring professional women’s basketball to Canada! The Toronto Tempo is the WNBA’s 14th franchise and first Canadian team set to tip off in May. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, IT reporting to the Chief Financial Officer to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Director, IT will support the Chief Financial Officer in building and executing all aspects of technology for the organization. This role is responsible for managing all technology, integrating various software into the organization, and supporting staff with their IT needs. The Director, IT will act as the key point of contact for all technology year round in support of our basketball operations, game presentation, and corporate staff. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and experienced in managing all aspects of information technology across a large organization.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

IT Management

  • Responsible for managing all Tempo technology and IT requests across the organization.
  • Support all Tempo staff with all technology-related items to ensure they can operate in their respective roles at the highest level.
  • Prepare appropriate technology for all new hires in advance of their start date (laptops, phones, software, desktops).
  • Onboard and offboard staff from their designated devices and provide training as needed.
  • Provide offsite technology setup and support for key events including WNBA draft, trade deadline meetings, town halls, press conferences, and community events.
  • Manage all in-season and off-season Technology & A/V projects including budgets, mock-ups, scheduling, ordering, contractor engagement, installation, testing, and sign-off.
  • Handle all mass IT issues with care and expertise to ensure our staff and data are safe.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Security to ensure all technology related security measures are in place and running smoothly.
  • Work with cyber security teams to help facilitate investigations and resolutions of any breach or suspicious activity.
  • Manage and track inventory of all IT devices and equipment within the organization.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with various vendors.
  • Lead staff trainings related to IT and cyber security on an annual basis.

Game Day Support

  • Provide game day and in-game IT support to the Tempo basketball operations staff, visiting team staff, WNBA staff, and all media outlet personnel.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining game bench technology (DV Sport Replay System, Bench AP, etc.) at every home game.
  • Work with the venue IT teams to ensure all audio, video and venue technology both inside and outside the area are fully functioning and operating correctly.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure hardware and software are fully functioning on game days.

Software Integration

  • Manage setup and ongoing support of all software in the Tempo including WIN, MACOS and iOS (Office 365, Webex, Windows applications, Adobe suite, and more).
  • Manage setup, integration, and ongoing support of all Tempo basketball-specific software and services including Zoom, Teams, Dropbox, Teamworks, Kinexon, Slack, Luceo.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in computer science, information technology, management information systems or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT related role required.
  • Highly organized self-starter with meticulous attention to detail, methodical in approach to projects and problems, resourceful, and works well in a face-paced environment.
  • Must be able to come to all home games in Toronto throughout the season.
  • May need to travel across Canada for additional games based on business needs.

The salary range for the Director, IT role is between $130,000 - $140,000 CAD.
