Work Schedule: Full-time; 12 month position. The work schedule includes all practices and competition as well as recruiting and office hours. Specific days during the week may vary. Evenings and weekends with travel for games and recruiting.
General Description: The Assistant Coach assists head coaches with all functions of running a quality collegiate athletic program. This position includes traveling with teams to competitions. This position reports to the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Assume responsibility for the training and development of the players by demonstrating technical expertise and teaching the fundamentals.
Recruit potential student athletes.
Assist students in achieving academic success.
Set up film exchange.
Contribute to game preparation through tape review, breakdown, and scouting report preparation.
Identify, attract, and matriculate outstanding student-athletes to the university.
Provide transformative learning opportunities that challenge and support students.
Support student-athlete academic and athletic excellence, leadership development, team development, and community service.
Develop positive public relations with all internal and external constituents.
Complete the Title IX module.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Skilled and knowledgeable in women’s lacrosse.
Knowledge of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Ability to follow directions from head coach and relay to student-athletes.
Knowledge of D-III rules and requirements.
Excellent organizational, planning, supervisory and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong recruiting, teaching, and coaching skills.
Ability to collaborate and communicate with a wide variety of students, parents, alumni, faculty, departmental staff, and the general public.
Ability to promote and sustain effective working relationships within a diverse environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Bachelor’s degree.
Experience in women’s lacrosse, playing or coaching or relevant experience.
CPR/First Aid certification and may be obtained on the job.
Valid driver’s license (Must have had a valid driver’s license for at least 2 years).
Finalist applicants must satisfactorily complete pre-employment background checks and pass PLU’s internal Driver’s Certification Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of D-III rules and requirements.
College experience (coaching or playing).
Previous recruiting experience at the collegiate level.
