Assistant Middle School Softball Coach

Summary
Caldwell County Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our coaching staff as an Assistant Softball Coach. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with student-athletes, fostering their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in developing a competitive softball program while ensuring a positive and safe environment for all players.

Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices and games.
- Provide instruction and support to student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and rules of softball.
- Help create and maintain a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Assist with the organization of team events, including practices, games, and tournaments.
- Collaborate with the head coach to develop game strategies and line-ups.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to enhance coaching skills and knowledge.
- Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and ready for use.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in coaching or playing softball at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of softball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, players, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to commit to a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends for practices and games.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Background check clearance as required by school policy.
