Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Gettysburg College is seeking an assistant women’s lacrosse coach (intern) to work in the athletics department. This position will be responsible for assisting the head coach in the areas of coaching, practice planning, recruiting, academic monitoring of student-athletes, and video technology. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Executive Director of Athletics.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in the environment of an academically demanding liberal arts institution with NCAA Division III athletic philosophies and policies, have outstanding interpersonal skills and organizational skills, and have communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with students and colleagues. The position is paid on an hourly basis, and the individual is eligible to participate in the College’s fringe benefit program, including medical, dental and vision insurance. A meal plan is also provided.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assist with all coaching duties during traditional and nontraditional season, including player development, practice planning, team strategy analysis.

Assist with video breakdown, scouting, and general game day preparation.

Assist with identifying, contacting and recruiting prospective student-athletes.

Serve as contributing member of athletic department and college community.

Work with strength and conditioning program throughout the year.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

Experience with an intercollegiate lacrosse program as a former player, coach, manager, who specializes in coaching goalies, draws and/or offense, preferred.

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in the environment of an academically demanding liberal arts institution.

Working knowledge of  NCAA  rules and commitment to holistic student-athlete experience.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize effectiveness with students and colleagues.

Strong organizational and administrative skills and ability to initiate and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
