Assist the Air Force Academy Track & Field/Cross Country program in the role of sprint/hurdle/relays coach for both men and women. Position will involve conducting daily practice, recruiting, transportation, assisting with a variety of program logistics and mentoring cadet-athletes. Must adhere to NCAA Division I, Mountain West and Air Force Academy policies and guidelines. Position will work cooperatively with cadet-athletes, coaches, athletic department staff and USAFA employees. Position reports to the Director of Track & Field/Cross Country and Senior Associate Athletic Director/Sport Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Recruit highly competitive and admissible candidates to the Air Force Academy within USAFA, Mountain West and NCAA guidelines.
Implement and oversee training routines for sprints/hurdles/relays.
Develop successful sprints/hurdles/relays for both men and women at the Mountain West and NCAA Division I levels.
Be a professional mentor for USAFA cadets and cadet-athletes.
Assist and complete other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Director of Track & Field/Cross Country. Requirements:
Proven record of success coaching track & field; previous Division I collegiate coaching experience preferred.
Bachelorβs degree required; masterβs degree preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Professional conduct aligned with USAFAβs mission of developing officers of character & quality.
Comfortability within a fast-paced, result-driven and multi-faceted environment.
Availability to work evenings and weekends - including weekend travel.
