JOB SUMMARY
The Ladies Professional Golf Association is seeking a part time Ford Championship Tournament Operations Intern to join our dynamic team in executing a world-class sporting event that aims to revive professional golf in Phoenix. If you are looking to gain inside knowledge in event operations and apply your organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities, this role is perfect for you. As a Tournament Operations Intern, you will assist the Operations Director, collaborate with vendors, manage on-site storage and inventory, serve as a liaison to the Volunteer Services team, coordinate tournament communications, and fulfill additional assigned duties. This internship offers aspiring sports professionals the opportunity to lead important projects and gain valuable professional experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Operations Director to ensure first-class presentation for the operation of the event.
- Work with vendors and host venue to ensure on-site build outs and movement is on-time and in compliance with venue regulations.
- Management of on-site storage and inventory to ensure brand activities are activated at a first-class rate.
- Liaison to Volunteer Services team to ensure Tournament Volunteers are empowered to lead various committees in support of overall Tournament success.
- Coordination and management of Tournament communications logistics.
- Carry out additional assigned tasks and projects.
INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be currently enrolled as a college/graduate student. Recent grads will also be considered.
- Progress toward a degree, major, or minor relevant to the internship.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds.
- Available to work remotely (February 9 – March 15).
- Available to work in person onsite advance week, tournament week, and post tournament (March 16 – April 4).
