    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

    • Oversee all aspects of the high school softball program, including training, meet preparation, and athlete development.
    • Plan and conduct effective practices focused on endurance, strength, technique, and strategy.
    • Build a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, academic success, and personal growth.
    • Manage games, coordinate travel logistics, and communicate effectively with athletes, families, and staff.
    • Collaborate with assistance coaches, athletic trainers, and school administrators to ensure athlete safety and program alignment with district goals.
    • Recruit and mentor student-athletes at the high school and middle school levels to encourage program growth.
    • Ensure compliance with MSHSL, district, and safety policies at all times.
    • Serve as a role model and ambassador for Albert Lea Athletics within the school and community.


    Pay Rate:

    • Compensation will be in accordance with Schedule C of the Teacher Master Agreement ($4,897.21/season)

    Qualifications:

    • Previous coaching experience in softball (head or assistant) strongly preferred.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
    • Current CPR/First-Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
