Location: Remote (U.S.-based) with occasional travel for site visits and business-related events                           

Job Summary:

A Regional Club Leader (RCL) is responsible for a portfolio of 8-12  youth volleyball clubs.  RCLs are accountable for club financial performance and serve as the direct supervisor for club directors of clubs in your portfolio.  RCLs also represent club needs and concerns with LOVB Central Support and help roll out new initiatives, processes, and systems at clubs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Club Director Engagement & Club Operations

  • Build trusted relationships with club directors and increase their engagement with LOVB
  • Support club directors with obstacles they face in the day-to-day management of clubs and provide business, operational, and leadership coaching
  • Make hire/fire decisions for club directors, and advise club directors on building their local team
  • Facilitate opportunities for club directors to connect with each other to share best practices
  • Advocate for club needs to LOVB Central support teams.  Collaborate with various LOVB Central support teams (marketing, legal, finance, technology, people success) to solve problems clubs may encounter

 

Club Performance

  • Accountable for club financial performance, including achieving budgets and stretch goals
  • Partner with FP&A team to build annual budgets and deliver monthly financial reviews
  • Build 3-5 year strategic growth plans in conjunction with Club Directors
  • Influence the expansion of volleyball programming at clubs by utilizing the LOVB resources and implementing best practices 
  • Partner with Facilities and FP&A team to identify capital improvements needed or new facilities

 

Support Club Recruiting

  • Build relationships with potential new clubs; partner with Club Recruiting team throughout the acquisition processes
  • Work closely with club onboarding to help transition and provide training to new clubs joining LOVB

  • A clear and friendly communication style with strong listening skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be a positive, proactive, think outside the box, and organized team player 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as ability to collaborate closely with a team that is distributed remotely
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal guidance
  • High degree of flexibility and ready to learn. You’re not just capable of, but excited about learning new systems and skills, and improving existing systems

 

Education and Experience:

  • 5-7 years leading a youth volleyball club, or working in a youth sports environment
  • Experience managing multiple direct reports

 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to operate a computer and use a keyboard, mouse, and video conferencing tools.
  • Ability to clearly communicate via video, phone, and written channels.
  • Occasional travel may be required for site visits and events.
