Position Summary

To support the continued growth of the league, the PWHL is seeking an experienced Payroll & Tax Administrator to manage all aspects of payroll processing and compliance across the league and its teams. The administrator will focus on leveraging ADP Comprehensive Services and ADP Workforce Now to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll for a multi-jurisdictional workforce, including staff and professional athletes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in payroll systems, tax compliance, and Excel, and thrive in managing a high volume of requests with precision and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing & Administration
  • Manage end-to-end payroll for employees and players across U.S. and Canada using ADP Workforce Now
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll runs, including salary, bonuses, incentives, and benefits.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local tax regulations.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
  • Oversee multi-jurisdictional tax filings and ensure adherence to labor laws. 
  • Prepare payroll tax reports and support audits as needed.
System Management & Data Integrity
  • Serve as primary liaison with ADP Comprehensive Services for payroll and tax administration. 
  • Maintain accurate employee data and ensure confidentiality across all payroll platforms.
Analytics & Volume Management
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills for reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis. 
  • Manage a large volume of payroll-related requests efficiently and accurately.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Finance, People & Culture, and Legal teams to align payroll processes with organizational goals. 
  • Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll and tax issues.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
  • 3–5 years of payroll experience, including multi-jurisdictional payroll and tax compliance.

Required Qualifications
  •  Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage high-volume requests.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in sports, entertainment, or industries with complex compensation structures.
  • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements
