Nature of Work:
Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, the Manager of Public Relations supports and executes the club’s external communications and media relations strategy. This role plays a key part in shaping Denver Summit FC’s public presence, strengthening its reputation, and delivering compelling stories that engage fans and community partners. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings strong skills in sports communications, media relations, storytelling, and relationship-building.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Relations Support & Execution:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local, national and global media.
- Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day media inquiries and interview requests.
- Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, matchday information and game recaps.
- Coordinate and support press conferences, media availabilities, and interviews.
- Coordinate logistics for media attendance and coverage of club initiatives.
Story Development & Pitching:
- Identify, research, and pitch compelling story ideas surrounding the team, players, coaches, executives, and community initiatives.
- Support proactive outreach to local, regional, and national media.
- Collaborate with content, digital, and social teams to ensure message alignment.
- Assist in preparing overall team messaging, talking points, and media briefing documents.
Matchday & Soccer Operations Communications:
- Support matchday media operations, including credentialing, press box logistics, and postgame materials.
- Assist in compiling and distributing game notes, broadcaster information player, milestones, and statistics.
- Coordinate player and coach media availability under the direction of the Director of Public Relations.
- Serve as an on-site media liaison during games, training sessions, and club events.
- Help draft and edit the annual media guide.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time in an office setting and also be able to stand for long periods of time during various media availabilities and events
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and some holidays
- Some travel required to Denver Summit FC preseason training, regular season road game and/or various club functions.
Qualifications:
Minimum
- Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, sports management or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in media relations, sports communications, or public relations.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
- Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred
- Experience working in professional, collegiate, or elite sports environments preferred.

Compensation:
- Base salary range $70,000-$80,000 per annum
- Eligible for annual discretionary bonus
