Liberal, Kansas, Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Basic Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Position Summary:
Seward County Community College is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and experienced individual to serve as the Head Coach for the Women’s Wrestling program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership, development, and administration of all aspects of the women’s wrestling program in alignment with the mission, goals, and objectives of the college and athletic department.
Primary Responsibilities:
Organize, supervise, and manage the women’s wrestling program, including practice and competition schedules.
Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes who reflect the values of SCCC and are capable of succeeding academically and athletically.
Develop and implement training programs that promote student-athlete growth, wellness, and performance.
Monitor academic progress and support student-athlete academic success.
Ensure program compliance with NJCAA rules and regulations, as well as institutional policies.
Coordinate team travel, equipment, and budget management.
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture.
Engage in fundraising and community outreach to promote the program and college.
Collaborate effectively with athletic trainers, faculty, administrators, and other athletic department personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated coaching experience in wrestling (collegiate level preferred).
Understanding of NJCAA rules and eligibility requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Collegiate wrestling coaching experience (Freestyle).
Recruiting experience with knowledge of regional and national talent.
Experience with budget management and athletic program promotion.
