RESPONSIBILITIES: The head volleyball coach is responsible for leading all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division I volleyball program including, but not limited to: budget management, recruiting, fundraising, supervision of staff, a commitment to student-athlete health and welfare, and directing skill instruction and development. The successful candidate must be fully committed to all NCAA, The Ohio Valley Conference, and Western Illinois University Athletics Department policies and procedures, and will be expected to work cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units.
RANK & SALARY: $60,000-$65,000. Negotiable, commensurate with experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in a field or area of study related to sport management, leadership, supervision, or higher education administration.
Demonstrated competitive success in coaching intercollegiate volleyball.
Proven record of successful recruitment of college-level academically and athletically prepared student-athletes.
Progressive experience in managing the diverse administrative responsibilities attendant to an intercollegiate volleyball program, including effective budget management, travel planning, and scheduling.
Proven record of adherence to NCAA academic and compliance regulations.
Proven record of promoting a culture among student-athletes that values academic excellence, and student-athlete health and welfare.
Valid driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Competitive success in a head coaching role at the NCAA level.
Supervisory experience.
