Position: Varsity Head Girls Volleyball Coach
Reports to: Activities Director

Sibley East School District is seeking a positive, motivated, and student-centered individual to serve as the Varsity Head Girls Volleyball Coach. The successful candidate will provide leadership for the volleyball program, foster positive relationships with student-athletes, and promote excellence in athletics, academics, sportsmanship, and character development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organize, supervise, and coach the varsity volleyball program.
• Develop and implement practice plans that promote skill development, teamwork, and competitive success.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, accountability, and personal growth.
• Collaborate with assistant coaches to ensure consistency and alignment throughout the volleyball program.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, coaches, school personnel, and community members.
• Ensure compliance with all school district, conference, and Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) rules and regulations.
• Promote academic achievement and positive citizenship among student-athletes.
• Coordinate team activities, equipment needs, and program operations.
• Attend required coaches' meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned by the Activities Director or Building Principal.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Demonstrated knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategy, and skill development.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, staff, and community members.
• Ability to meet MSHSL coaching requirements.

Preferred:

• Previous volleyball coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
• Experience working with adolescent students.
• Current Minnesota teaching license or experience working in educational settings.
• Commitment to developing the entire volleyball program from youth through varsity levels.
