Summary
Pike-Delta-York Local Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to lead our varsity softball program as the Head Coach. This time position entails overseeing all aspects of the softball program, including coaching, training, and mentoring student-athletes. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and competitive environment that promotes athletic excellence, teamwork, and personal growth among players.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training and competition schedule for the varsity softball team.
- Conduct daily practices, focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
- Mentor and guide student-athletes in their athletic and academic pursuits, promoting a balanced approach to sports and education.
- Collaborate with other coaches and athletic staff to enhance the overall athletic program and ensure alignment with school policies.
- Organize and manage all aspects of the varsity softball program, including game-day preparations, travel arrangements, and equipment management.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team development.
- Build positive relationships with players, parents, and the school community to foster support for the softball program.
- Uphold and enforce school policies, athletic regulations, and safety protocols at all times.
- Actively recruit and retain student-athletes, promoting the benefits of the softball program within the school and the wider community.
- Attend coaching clinics, workshops, and professional development opportunities to stay current with coaching techniques and trends in the sport.

Requirements
- Proven experience coaching high school softball or a similar level, with a strong understanding of the game and its strategies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to balance coaching responsibilities with administrative duties.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their personal and team goals.
- Knowledge of current rules and regulations governing high school softball.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive team culture that emphasizes respect, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for practices, games, and team events.
