Monarch Collective | Head of Ops, Finance, & Legal
Overview:
Monarch Collective is an investment platform with a mission to to build leading women's sports institutions that inspire and unite. We are focused on investing in women's sports teams, leagues, and rights-based adjacencies. Our first fund was $250M focused on this strategy, through which we have invested in five women's sports teams across multiple sports, leagues, and continents and incubated one rights-based business from scratch. We believe there continues to be tremendous growth potential for the women's sports ecosystem. We are looking to add to our team to support our growth plans and the evolution of our platform to support the opportunity for our firm and the ecosystem more broadly.

Reporting to: Jasmine Robinson & Kara Nortman
Responsibilities:
Firm strategy & reporting: Refine cadence and process for internal portfolio reporting and team discussions. Lead long-term Monarch strategic planning including early exploration around new investment strategies or themes.
Ongoing optimization: Continually improve Monarch's operational efficiency across all key processes and systems. Work with the team to leverage new technology or AI tools to find potential time and budget savings.
Financial operations: Oversee outsourced CFO and third-party partners for audit, tax, and fund admin across Monarch investment vehicles. Lead portfolio valuation process. Manage any co-invest vehicles and potential secondary stake sales.
Compliance: Manage firm RIA status and compliance policies. Maintain firm insurance policies appropriate for relevant operations.
Legal: Coordinate legal execution across all Monarch investment vehicles. Support the deal team with investment legal work including NDAs, legal diligence, investment documentation, and league review/consent processes.
Information technology: Oversee IT tool selection, vetting, and architecture/integration. Manage cybersecurity protections. Manage onboarding, access, offboarding, and maintenance of all tools.
HR systems management: Own the relationships with our outsourced HR provider(s) to facilitate employee payroll, benefits, onboarding, and offboarding.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; MBA and/or JD preferred
10+ years of work experience in investing, fund or family office operations, and/or fund or transactional legal
Strong financial acumen and financial modeling skills; strong technical proficiency
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to thrive as an independent thinker and in a collaborative, team setting
Passion for women's sports and advancing gender and racial equity in sports
