Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, The Head Women’s Rowing Coach is responsible for leading all aspects of the women’s rowing program, including recruiting, training, and mentoring student-athletes to achieve success on and off the water. This position requires a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and academic achievement. In addition to coaching responsibilities, the role includes administrative duties supporting the broader operations of the athletic department, which will be assigned based on the candidate's experience and strengths. This dual responsibility offers an opportunity to contribute strategically to departmental goals while building a successful and inclusive rowing program. Essential Functions

Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

Program Leadership : Develop, implement, and oversee all aspects of the women’s rowing program, including training plans, race strategies, and student-athlete development.

Recruitment & Retention : Identify, recruit, and retain talented student-athletes who demonstrate a commitment to academic achievement, athletic excellence, and personal growth.

Team Culture & Student-Athlete Experience : Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, leadership, and holistic student-athlete development.

Operational Oversight : Manage all program logistics including travel coordination, equipment procurement and maintenance, budget planning, and scheduling of practices and competitions.

Compliance & Governance : Ensure full compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements.

Boathouse Relations : Build and maintain a strong, collaborative relationship with boathouse management to ensure access, safety, and operational efficiency for training and events.

Campus & Community Engagement : Collaborate with university departments on fundraising, alumni relations, community outreach, and promotional initiatives to elevate program visibility and support.

Administrative Support : Perform additional administrative duties to support the department, such as event management, compliance, or student-athlete development initiatives, tailored to the candidate's strengths and experience.

Mentorship & Advocacy : Serve as a mentor and advocate for student-athletes, supporting their academic progress, personal well-being, and career aspirations.

Institutional Alignment : Uphold and promote the university’s mission, values, and strategic goals while striving for competitive success on and off the water.
