Duties and Responsibilities: This position is a part-time 10-month position in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Responsible for effectively working with qualified student-athletes and assisting with all aspects of the women’s soccer program including but not limited to: coaching responsibilities, as assigned by the Head Soccer Coach, assisting in recruitment of prospective student athletes, monitoring the academic progress of soccer student-athletes, assisting with program’s strength and conditioning program, and assisting in operation of program’s camps and clinics. The Graduate Assistant will also coordinate team travel, inventory and manage the program’s gear and equipment, assist with Goal Club and alumni outreach, and oversee compliance with the GAC’s film sharing program. The GA is responsible for compliance with policies and procedures of the University, Great American Conference (GAC), NCAA and other regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, with at least an overall 2.75 undergraduate GPA to be considered for admission to Graduate Studies.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- The successful candidate will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment.
- Experience playing or coaching college soccer.
- Experience training or working with goalkeepers and/or in conducting a strength and conditioning program.
- Thorough understanding of NCAA rules compliance.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Able to remain calm in situations where emotions are strained.
- Committed to both athletic and academic excellence.
