Columbia, Missouri, The University of Missouri Women’s Basketball program is seeking applicants for one Graduate Assistant. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Graduate Assistant will assist with all facets of a high-level Division I Women’s Basketball program.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
On-Court: Assists the head coach in all aspects of practice planning and preparation, including skill development, player development workouts, scouting preparation, and game strategy. Provides technical instruction and feedback during practices and workouts. Assists with film breakdown and opponent scouting.
Video Coordination and Analytics: Assists with practice and game film capture, breakdown, and analysis using video software. Organizes and disseminates film to student-athletes and staff. Supports statistical analysis and track relevant performance metrics throughout the season to aid in player development and scouting reports.
Recruiting: Assists the coaching staff with recruiting operations, including communication with prospective student-athletes (as permitted by NCAA rules), coordination of official and unofficial visits, preparation of recruiting materials, and logistical planning for campus visits.
Operations and Logistics: Supports the coaching staff with team operations during home and away contests, including travel coordination, equipment needs, practice scheduling, and other administrative duties as assigned.
Creative Content: Assist content team with graphic design needs, social media posts, video production, recruiting content, etc. **encouraged but not required. Qualifications for this position include: a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline, a background in athletics, intent to work in collegiate sports, excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong self-starter, excellent organizational skills, and great attention to detail. As working in the field of collegiate athletics is not limited to a traditional work week, the candidates must be willing to work nights and weekends and expend extra effort to obtain the full experience possible from the position.
