Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to coach the Freshman Girls Volleyball team at Charlotte High School. This seasonal position offers an opportunity to inspire young athletes, develop their skills, and foster teamwork and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a passion for volleyball and a commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive environment for all players.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
- Conduct daily practices and oversee team activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
- Organize and manage game schedules, transportation, and communication with players and parents.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to help athletes improve.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Collaborate with school administration and athletic department to ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.
- Attend all games and practices, maintaining a visible presence and demonstrating leadership.
- Promote the volleyball program within the school and community to encourage participation and support.
Requirements
- Previous experience playing or coaching volleyball, preferably at the high school level or higher.
- Strong understanding of volleyball rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and connect with young athletes.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive team environment.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred, or willingness to obtain prior to the season.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for practices and games.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coaching certification is a plus.
