Job Summary:
The Freshman Girls Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing freshman athletes in the school’s volleyball program. The coach fosters skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive competitive spirit, while preparing athletes for advancement to higher levels of competition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and conduct volleyball practices and skill-building sessions for the freshman team.
- Teach fundamental and advanced volleyball skills, techniques, and strategies.
- Develop game plans, manage team rotations, and make in-game decisions during matches.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive behavior on and off the court.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance; provide constructive feedback to athletes.
- Assist in the recruitment and orientation of new players.
- Coordinate with the varsity and junior varsity coaches to ensure consistent program development.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, statistics, and team performance.
- Attend and supervise all games, tournaments, and related team events.
- Ensure athlete safety, including proper equipment use, warm-ups, and injury prevention.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and athletic administration.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and coaching techniques.
- Previous coaching experience preferred; playing experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with young athletes.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred or required by the school.
