The newest women’s professional soccer franchise has joined forces with Legends Global, in a multi-year partnership to drive commercial revenue and global brand partnerships for the club. This collaboration seeks to provide Denver’s passionate fanbase with exceptional experiences and propel Denver Summit FC to unprecedented heights in women’s soccer. Denver Summit FC has announced its plans to build the first purpose-built sports and entertainment district for professional women’s sports in the heart of Denver – the largest overall investment in a women’s professional sports team in history.

THE ROLE

The Director, Partnership Sales will conceptualize, develop, and secure key local, national, and international partnerships to maximize sponsorship revenue for Summit FC. The role will be primarily responsible for driving new business development and will be based on location in Denver. The ideal candidate has a strong background in soccer or women’s sports and has a wide network of brand contacts in the Denver-region and nationally. 

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Become immersed in Summit FC’s brand and mission to create, package, and sell solution-based naming rights and partnerships while meeting and exceeding team revenue goals.
  • Work with partnerships team to manage key category development and platform ideation for new partners.
  • Secure and conduct partnership development meetings with potential clients by leveraging relationships as well as cold outreach.
  • Research and identify industries and organizations to solicit partnerships.
  • Support the business development team to design high-level vision decks and interactive pitch meetings.
  • Negotiate and close partnership deals and work with counsel through contract execution.
  • Develop relationships and work directly with key colleagues to create a collaborative business development process and the opportunity for integrated partnerships.
  • Stay ahead of sponsorship/marketing trends and knowledge of the soccer & women’s sports marketplace, bringing innovative ideas to enhance partnership offerings.
  • Understand the marketing and business objectives of prospective clients and their agencies to determine how a partnership with the Denver NWSL team can help them achieve their goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at client marketing companies and their respective advertising or brand consulting agencies.
  • Attend weekly meetings with senior-level executives and provide routine business development updates.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE     

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 8 years of high-level partnership revenue performance. Preferred selling partnerships for professional, collegiate or media sports property.
  • Preferable experience includes working with new and/or facility renovation projects within the Sports and Entertainment industry.
  • A proven track record in pitching, negotiating, and closing six-to-eight-figure partnership deals.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Solid book of business with high-level contacts at large and midsize corporations, particularly companies with partnership portfolios
  • Strong collaborator with track record of working exceptionally well across all areas of the business (sales, marketing, operations, etc.)
  • Thrives in a team-oriented environment. Approaches each day with positive attitude and energy
  • Expertise in identifying opportunities, developing strategies, and negotiating creative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities with excellent communication skills
  • High energy and a personality that thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Strong work ethic and a competitive drive to win.
  • Ability to communicate the value of partnership vs. pure media as a marketing solution.
  • History of developing creative proposals that meet and exceed potential partners’ business objectives.

COMPENSATION

Competitive salary between $120,000 - $135,000 + bonus opportunity, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
