Girls Preparatory School seeks a Director of Soccer beginning the 2026-27 school year to provide visionary leadership, strategic oversight, and day-to-day management of the school’s 6th–12th grade soccer program. The Director of Soccer is responsible for building and sustaining a program that reflects the mission and values of GPS while ensuring a competitive and enriching experience for student-athletes. This role will collaborate closely with athletics staff, school leadership, and families to foster a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and community.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Vision

Develop and implement a comprehensive program philosophy that aligns with the GPS mission, values, and overall athletics strategic plan.

Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that is vertically aligned across middle and upper school levels.

Coaching & Staff Management

Recruit, hire, supervise, and mentor coaching staff across all levels of the 6th through 12th grade soccer program.

Ensure ongoing professional development and accountability for coaches.

Scheduling & Program Operations

Oversee the coordination of practice and game schedules in collaboration with the Athletics Department.

Manage facility use to ensure equitable access for all athletic programs.

Coordinate travel, officials, and game-day operations.

Athlete Recruitment & Retention

Recruit and retain mission-appropriate student-athletes who reflect the values and standards of GPS.

Build relationships with local youth soccer programs and community partners to develop a pipeline of future GPS athletes.

Communication & Community Engagement

Serve as the primary point of contact for the soccer program, ensuring timely and consistent communication with athletes, families, and school staff.

Partner with the Athletics Department to promote the program through marketing, social media, and community events.

Equipment & Uniform Management

Oversee ordering, distribution, and maintenance of uniforms, gear, and equipment.

Ensure adherence to school branding and uniform standards.

Compliance & Student-Athlete Support

Ensure the program complies with TSSAA and NFHS regulations, school policies, and safety standards.

Support student-athletes in balancing academic and athletic commitments.

Encourage leadership, sportsmanship, and personal growth among players.

Support student-athletes through the college recruitment process, providing guidance and resources to pursue opportunities at the next level.

Support the “whole girl” by fostering confidence, resilience, and holistic development both on and off the field.

This position can be paired with any current or future opening at the school for qualified candidates. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Significant coaching and leadership experience within competitive soccer programs, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor coaching staff.
