We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director, Community Basketball to join our team. In this high-impact role, you will support all facets of Community Basketball for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury and Valley Suns, while playing a key role in broader department initiatives.

What You Will Do:

Strategy & Growth Leadership

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury youth basketball to support the growth of participation and enhance the experience through cultivated season long touchpoints
  • Lead, grow and strengthen strategic relationships with youth sports organizations including YMCA, Boys & Girls Clubs, and municipal Parks & Recreation departments
  • Create an annual calendar of camps and clinics that engage youth and drive organizational goals
  • Lead collaboration with Marketing, Communications and Revenue to build integrated campaigns to increase enrollment, retention, and fan engagement

Revenue & Business Development

  • Lead cross department efforts to grow program revenue through camps, clinics, leagues, by identifying scalable, premium experiences and offerings that drive incremental revenue
  • Define measurable goals and KPIs tied to participation, revenue, and fan conversion
  • Oversee program budgets, forecasting, and financial performance

Program Oversight & Experience

  • Oversee the development and execution of summer and winter camps, all adult and youth clinics, Jr. leagues, and all community basketball activities including but not limited to grassroots initiatives, school clinics ensuring best-in-class participant experience.
  • Implement coach training curriculum and manage coach engagement and appreciation initiatives to support retention and positive program culture
  • Other Duties as Assigned

          What We Need from Our Director, Community Basketball:

          • Strategic thinker with demonstrated experience leading revenue-generating programs
          • Background in youth sports, community engagement, or sports business
          • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and teams
          • Willingness to work evenings/weekends during peak programming
          • Strong customer service or concierges experience
          • Experience managing budgets

            Experience/ Education Requirements:

            • At least 8 years in youth sports, sports business, community programming, or related field
            • At least 5 years in a leadership role managing teams, budgets, and revenue targets
            • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Recreation Management, or related field
