Description
The Coordinator of Field Marketing plays a key role in building awareness, excitement, and fan engagement for the NWSL’s 18th team. As a front-line representative of the brand, this position is responsible for executing grassroots marketing initiatives, connecting with the community, and capturing leads to grow the club’s fan database ahead of and during the inaugural season.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-energy environments, enjoys engaging directly with fans, and is motivated by measurable impact—turning everyday interactions into future ticket buyers and loyal supporters. This position sits on the marketing team and directly reports the Director of Fan Engagement

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 
  • Execute field marketing events including street team activations, community appearances, youth soccer outreach, watch parties, and local festivals 
  • Represent the club in-market with energy, professionalism, and authenticity 
  • Help bring the brand to life by creating fun, memorable, and engaging fan interactions
  • Actively capture fan data at all activations using tablets, QR codes, and other tools 
  • Clearly communicate calls-to-action that drive sign-ups, ticket interest, and ongoing engagement 
  • Support efforts to grow and maintain a high-quality fan database
  • Create positive, first-time interactions that introduce new fans to the club and the sport 
  • Distribute promotional materials, explain ticket offerings, and generate excitement around upcoming matches and events 
  • Identify opportunities to deepen engagement and encourage repeat interactions
  • Lead setup, breakdown, and on-site execution of field marketing events 
  • Maintain and organize marketing assets, giveaways, and activation materials 
  • Coordinate schedules and logistics to ensure smooth execution across multiple events
  • Support the training and coordination of part-time brand ambassadors 
  • Help ensure consistent messaging and high-quality representation of the club across all touchpoints
  • Work closely with Marketing, Ticketing, and Community teams to align messaging and goals 
  • Provide on-the-ground feedback and insights from fans and community interactions 
  • Share ideas to improve activations, increase engagement, and drive more leads
  • Other duties as assigned 


Required skills, experience & abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing or related fields
  • 1-3 years experiential marketing, event manager, operations, community outreach or fan engagement experience through full-time or internship opportunities
  • Experience within the Columbus market a plus, but not required
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude with keen eye for attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging with diverse audiences 
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail 
  • Creative thinker with an ability to stay organized with multiple projects with various deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a large group of staff and/or volunteers
  • Must be a reliable, dependable, and positive team-player
  • Strong relationship-building skills 
  • Able to work home matches and events
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and events 
  • Valid US Driver’s license


About Columbus NWSL 2028:
In April 2026, the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced that Columbus will be home to the 18th club in the top global women’s soccer league. The team will play home matches at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field when it officially debuts during the 2028 NWSL season. Columbus NWSL 2028 will train at their own dedicated world-class performance center.
