TITLE: Communications Manager – Orlando Pride

In this role, you will help elevate the Orlando Pride’s brand, drive meaningful engagement with key audiences and contribute to the continued growth of the club and the women’s game on both the local and global stage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the primary communications lead for the Orlando Pride, overseeing all day-to-day media relations, including matchday media operations, media availability at training sessions, interview coordination and internal documentation.
Develop and execute strategic communications plans that align with Club objectives, driving media coverage and brand visibility across local, national and international outlets.
Lead the development of storylines in collaboration with internal content teams, marketing and external media partners, translating Club knowledge into compelling narratives that amplify team identity, milestones, and key moments.
Partner with the Sr. Director of Communications to shape and execute proactive media outreach, brand alignment and integrated communications campaigns.
Oversee day-to-day media operations, including media at trainings, matchday credentialing, press box logistics and post-match media availability, while supervising and mentoring department associates and interns.
Produce key written materials, including press releases, advisories, game notes and Club bios, with particular emphasis on clarity, brand voice and timeliness.
Spearhead the monitoring and reporting of Pride-specific media coverage, collaborating with senior leadership to evaluate messaging impact and refine outreach and crisis response tactics.
Lead planning and execution of Pride-specific media events such as press conferences, media days and Club announcements.
Represent the Communications department at Club and venue events, providing strategic guidance and on-site support as needed.
Foster and strengthen relationships with media personnel, league communications teams, and broadcast partners across the domestic and international soccer landscape.
Travel as needed to support media relations for away matches and events.
Support Club-wide marketing efforts, as well as brand alliances and sales initiatives, by aligning communications strategies with overarching goals

QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years of experience in sports communications, media relations, or related fields
Deep understanding of the women’s soccer landscape, especially NWSL
Self-starter who takes pride in their duties and is consistently looking to raise the standard of excellence
Strong interpersonal skills, including a network of media contacts and/or the ability to foster relationships with Club media targets
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in AP style
Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus, but not required
Proficiency in digital tools and platforms; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in non-traditional settings within a fast-paced team environment
The ability to pass a background screening
The ability to attain and maintain Safesport certification
