In June 2025, AU transformed and expanded its softball business by launching the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL), a premier professional women’s softball league. In 2026, additional teams have been added, converting to a fully city-based model, bringing in team owners, and building out ancillary business, fan and partner engagement opportunities.

The AUSL is hiring six (one per team) Team Sport Statistics and Information Coordinators to act as communications liaisons. This seasonal, hybrid position reports to the Director of Sport Statistics and Information. The Coordinator will be expected to be on-site for all of the team’s home games and will work remotely during away games.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute daily game notes to broadcast teams and media before all home and away games for assigned team, including any postseason contests
  • Attend all home games for assigned team and serve as the host statistics and information coordinator
    • Set up and break down official scoring computer
    • Provide printed materials (game notes, pregame and postgame statistics, lineup sheets) to broadcast teams and media
    • Apprise media and broadcast teams of milestones and other statistical information before, during and after games
  • Serve as point of contact for game-day personnel involved with statistics and scoring (e.g. scoreboard operator, official scorer)
  • Produce and distribute post-game notes/recap after all home games using Google Docs, including information for both teams
  • Be available during road games to respond to information requests from media and broadcasters remotely
  • Assist with maintaining and updating player bios during season
  • Respond to information requests from strategic communications lead, media personnel and the public to ensure continued coverage of AUSL and its teams
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in collegiate or professional sports information or relevant field
    • Experience as student assistant and/or graduate assistant in collegiate sports information office is acceptable
  • Prior experience producing in-depth sports information materials (e.g. game notes, player bios, game recaps) for a professional sports league or with a college SID office is required
  • Knowledgeable about softball, including expansive statistical understanding and the ability to translate that understanding into game notes form
  • Proficiency with The Automated Scorebook (Stat Crew) and NCAA Live Stats statistical scoring systems; experience with StatInput and PrestoStats are a plus
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe InDesign; experience with Adobe Photoshop a plus
  • Must be local to one of AUSL Team cities:

    • Portland, OR
    • Rosemont, IL
    • Round Rock, TX
    • Salt Lake City, UT
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects to complete all duties efficiently and promptly
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends during the season
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Compensation

This seasonal role is compensated at $6,000 for the season, which runs from late May to July 31. This role is a 1099 contract position and does not include benefits.
