In June 2025, AU transformed and expanded its softball business by launching the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL), a premier professional women’s softball league. In 2026, additional teams have been added, converting to a fully city-based model, bringing in team owners, and building out ancillary business, fan and partner engagement opportunities

Athletes Unlimited is looking for a Manager, Team Operations lead athlete operations and deliver an elite athlete experience across the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) Regular Season. This role will be assigned to an AUSL team and oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of comprehensive support, logistics, and engagement programs to ensure an exceptional professional experience both on and off the field. This role is seasonal and requires full time hours from April to July. It is fully remote in April, with travel to AUSL markets in May, June, and July, and reports to the Senior Manager, Team Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead athlete and team administration and communications, serving as the Teamworks administrator, managing proactive communication channels, and acting as an after-hours point of contact for athlete and staff needs
  • Organize and execute all team travel elements, including detailed itineraries, rental car coordination, hotel room blocks, meeting rooms, catering and team meals, and practice/game-day logistics
  • Support team logistics as requested by coaching and support staff, serving as a liaison to the venue, hotel, and other departments to execute logistics related to practice and game day needs, meeting spaces, film sessions, laundry, equipment, strength & conditioning, housekeeping and security 
  • Collaborate with coaching and support staff to create meaningful team outings and surprise-and-delight experiences and thoughtful touches throughout the season
  • Provide athlete and staff family support, including pass list management, arrivals/departures, and related logistics
  • Serve as visiting team coordinator, managing practice/BP needs for home and away team needs, film and meeting space, locker rooms, laundry, parking, and access
  • Source and manage supplemental on-site support staff (BP catchers, on-field assistants) to ensure smooth team operations
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in team operations, league operations, or event logistics, ideally within professional or collegiate sports
  • Passion for women’s sports and mission-driven, player-centric innovation
  • Prior experience working in sports, live events with diverse logistics or high pressure support roles 
  • Operate through an empathetic lens to help meet needs of teams, colleagues, and athletes
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Expertise in travel coordination, event operations, and logistics planning 
  • Familiarity with operations platforms (e.g., Teamworks, Perk) and standard business tools (Google Suite) is preferred 
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours when in season
  • Available to travel with AUSL assigned team and live/work in market the season
  • Travel to 10-Day Spring Training prior to the beginning of season
  • Strong preference for candidates based in the following cities: 
    • Durham, NC
    • Oklahoma City, OK
    • Portland/Hillsboro, OR
    • Rosemont, IL
    • Round Rock, TX
    • Salt Lake City, UT
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Contract dates: April 20, 2026-July 31, 2026 
    • Hybrid position: Remote Work beginning Mid-April, to then transition to full-time in person late May through the end of July.

The rate for this position is $1,250/week. (x 15 weeks) = $18,750/season

As this is a 1099 position, traditional employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans are not included. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and insurance coverage.
