Newberry, South Carolina, Newberry College (NCAA D2), located in Newberry, SC, is seeking applicants for our Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach.
The selected candidate will ensure the team operates and conducts themselves within the ideals, goals, rules and regulations set forth by Newberry College, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the South Atlantic Conference (SAC). The successful candidate will embrace and promote the mission of Newberry College.
This position reports directly to the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. The successful candidate will provide leadership, organization, supervision, instruction, and strategic planning for the Wolves women’s lacrosse team. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist the head coach in the following areas:
•Recruit student athletes that fit the culture of the college and the women’s lacrosse program
•Organize opponent scouting reports pre/post games
•Assist with travel plans
•Create an atmosphere that emphasizes the student-athlete experience
•Construct a plan to ensure academic success and personal development of student-athletes
•Meet recruiting and retention goals
•Ensure each student-athlete has a pathway towards graduation
•Identify, evaluate, and recruit academically prepared student-athletes in accordance with college policy and NCAA regulations
•Establish an effective communication plan with student-athletes Requirements include a bachelor’s degree, and previous collegiate women’s lacrosse coaching or playing experience is preferred.
