The Kingston K-14 School District is currently accepting certified applications for an Assistant High School Girls Volleyball Coach position for the 2026-2027 school year.
Reports to: Athletic Director/Building Principal
Position Summary: The Assistant High School Girls Volleyball Coach supports the head coach in leading and developing the girls' volleyball program. The assistant coach helps foster a positive, competitive, and educational environment that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and academic achievement while building strong relationships within the school and community.
Program Support & Development:
- Assist the head coach in planning and organizing all aspects of the girls' volleyball program.
- Help develop and implement structured practice plans focused on fundamentals and teamwork.
- Promote program goals aligned with the school's mission and community values.
- Support youth and feeder programs to strengthen long-term program development.
Practice & Game Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting practices, drills, and conditioning sessions.
- Support game preparation, including scouting and strategy implementation.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team events.
- Help manage equipment, uniforms, and facility setup/cleanup.
Student-Athlete Development:
- Promote academic achievement and monitor eligibility requirements.
- Model leadership, character, and positive citizenship.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with district, league, and state athletic association rules.
- Maintain required certifications (CPR, First Aid, concussion training, etc.).
- Prioritize student-athletes' safety and proper use of equipment.
- Communicate injuries and concerns appropriately with parents and administration.
Community & Communication:
- Maintain professional communication with players, parents, and staff.
- Support preseason parent and athlete meetings.
- Represent the school positively at all functions.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate rosters, statistics, and inventory records.
- Support fundraising and program activities as directed.
- Attend coaches' meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of fundamentals and player development.
- Effective organization and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of the Head Coach.
- Must meet all district and state certification requirements.
Work Schedule:
Position requires after-school practices, evening games, and occasional weekend/holiday tournaments. Off-season involvement may include open gyms, summer camps, and program support activities as directed by the Head Coach.
