Position Summary
This position is responsible for office administration that will assist in improving both the and Women's Tennis team and the overall operation of programs. Duties will be focused toward recruiting documents, emails, NCAA paperwork, team stats and team documents, and logistical coordination of team activities including but not limited to travel, competition, practice, study hall and meetings.
Responsibilities Recruiting Responsible for managing a database of prospects and maintaining records of contacts, phone calls and evaluations to remain in compliance with NCAA, Conference and University regulations. Assist with the recruiting of potential student-athletes via emails, letters and mailings. Student-Athlete, Team and Game Preparation Responsible for assisting the Head Coach in preparing communications related to practice and game plans for each scheduled match throughout the season. This includes but is not limited to scouting reports to prepare student-athletes so that they can make adjustments to their game plan for competitions. Responsible for tracking team statistics and preparing related reports as needed and requested by Head Coach. Attend practice as requested by head coach to help monitor practice activity. Administrative Responsibilities Responsible for the organization and coordination of a wide variety of administrative tasks as assigned by the Head Coach, which include, but not limited to, team travel, contest scheduling, budget preparation and administration, facility usage, public relations, marketing, fundraising, community service and other daily operations for the program. Work independently with various support services in the Department of Athletics and campus constituents (i.e., Financial Aid, Admissions, and Registrar) in carrying out these tasks. Monitoring of Academic Progress of Student-Athletes Assist in overseeing the academic success of the student-athlete and assist with academic problems. This includes supervising and monitoring study halls (as assigned), checking class attendance, and organizing weekly and monthly (one-on-one) academic meetings with each student-athlete and the Head Coach to track their progress by semester, major, and degree requirements. NCAA Rules Compliance 1. Responsible for knowledge of, and adherence to, department, University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to recruiting, eligibility, and general operation of the Women's Tennis Program. Perform other duties related to the Women's Tennis and Athletics program as assigned. Required Qualifications Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals outside of and within the university in writing and over the phone Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, administrative and organizational skills Must be able to manage multiple priorities Able to work independently and with little instruction Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel programs Sufficient dexterity to operate all office and vehicle equipment The selected candidate must successfully clear a background check from NCAA enforcement and the University Willingness and ability to drive departmental vehicles preferred. (Must have a clean driving record evidenced by a positive DMV pull in order to be eligible to drive.)
