General Responsibilities
This position plays a vital role in identifying, recruiting, and attracting talented female student-athletes to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. The coordinator serves as a key liaison between prospective student-athletes and coaches while fostering meaningful connections throughout the recruiting process. In addition to overseeing all aspects of the women’s lacrosse program, this position will enhance support for all women’s athletic programs. The primary goal is to recruit high caliber student-athletes who will excel academically while contributing to the continued growth and success of the women’s athletic programs.
Build relationships with high school coaches, athletic clubs, and other organizations to scout potential recruits.
Attend sporting events, tournaments, and showcases to evaluate and engage with potential student-athletes.
Coordinate campus visits and tours for prospective student-athletes.
Willing to travel long distances to locations inside and outside of New England.
Manage the women’s lacrosse program and complete related administrative duties.
Organize and conduct fundraising, team building and community outreach events.
Demonstrate and teach lacrosse related skills and effectively communicate strategies.
Develop prospect clinics, skills camps, and ID events to enhance recruiting.
Be knowledgeable of, and abide by, all Academy, NCAA and MASCAC policies and requirements
Attend home game day events and perform event management duties as directed
Fulfill all other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Previous coaching experience
Valid U.S. driver’s license
Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed
CPR and First Aid certification
Preferred Qualifications
Head coaching experience at the collegiate level
Knowledge of recruiting and admissions systems such as Slate and Front Rush
Experience in recruiting female student-athletes, preferably at the collegiate level.
Knowledge of the Mass Maritime admissions process
Salary
$60,000 - $65,000 annually
