About the Role

We are seeking a high-performing and driven Lead Goalkeeping Coach to design and lead an elite goalkeeping programme within our Women's First Team competing in the WSL.

You will create a high-performance environment that maximises goalkeeper development across all phases, leading the goalkeeping department across the entire women's pathway, ensuring alignment from development to First Team level.

Key Responsibilities

To support the Head Coach in building a successful First Team competing within the WSL in a high-performing environment

To develop and lead a successful goalkeeping programme capable of succeeding in the WSL, considering technical, tactical, physical, and psychological elements

To lead the goalkeeping department across the women's pathway, ensuring alignment, consistency and progression of goalkeepers at all levels

To line manage the PGA Goalkeeping Coach, providing leadership, direction, and support to ensure the effective delivery of the club's goalkeeping philosophy

Write and lead on a BCWFC Goalkeeping strategy that focuses on the development of all goalkeepers in the pathway

Deliver Goalkeeping CPD internally to upskill staff within the women's pathway

To attend all Women's First Team training sessions and matches played by the club

Support the Head Coach in determining match day strategy/gameplan for squad and individual players through;

• Pre/post match analysis

• Opposition Analysis

• Player IDP

• Accumulative data capture

Support and deliver outfield sessions as and when required

To prepare, deliver and review the teams defending set piece strategy and principles as requested by the Head Coach

Be responsible for organising and documenting individual development plans for the goalkeepers, in collaboration with technical and interdisciplinary staff

Support and collaborate with PGA staff ensuring appropriate integration, transition and development of goalkeepers through the pathway ready for first team involvement

Support the Recruitment Lead in creating a database of potential goalkeepers, scouting targets and providing appropriate reports on performance and potential of individuals

Support the monitoring of any loan players as requested by Recruitment Lead and/or Head Coach.

What we're looking for in you

Essential Requirements

UEFA A Licence GK holder

FA Licensed Coach (Member of the Licensed Coaches Club to cover safeguarding and first aid)

Desirable Requirements

UEFA A Licence holder

Understanding and empathy with education and learning with a strong commitment to personal development and training

Coach mentoring experience

FA Advanced Youth Award

Talent ID Level 3 or above
