High School JV Softball Coach - Spring 2026
Winnisquam Regional School District is hiring a High School Junior Varsity Softball Coach. The Junior Varsity Softball Coach is responsible to oversee the JV Softball Team. The Junior Varsity Softball Coach is expected to work with the Varsity head Coach to develop athletes and the overall softball program. The Junior Varsity Softball Coach is responsible for teaching fundamentals and with some insight into advanced skills, preparing the team for competition, and communication with parents, players, staff, media, etc.
This position reports to the Athletic Director and building Principal and will support the enforcement of school policy, NFHS and NHIAA rules regarding athletics, and the principles of good sportsmanship.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize team tryouts and maintain integrity during the selection process.
Hold a Parent Meeting at the beginning of the season.
Plan and implement daily practice routines and plans.
Ensure that all student-athletes receive appropriate instruction, support, and opportunities to participate, and work with student-athletes to improve personal and team skills.
Provide guidance and encouragement to help student-athletes prosper from their participation.
Maintain an accurate and current inventory of uniforms, equipment, and supplies.
Make provisions for maintenance of equipment.
Prepare and file necessary reports in a timely fashion.
Comply with NFHS and NHIAA rules and regulations and adhere to District policies.
Attend mandatory programs and earn required certifications (e.g., rules interpretation, safety clinics, etc.).
Promote a professional image of the Winnisquam Regional School District.
QUALIFICATIONS
Coaching and/or playing experience at the high school and/or collegiate levels is recommended. First Aid and CPR/AED Certification and the completion of NHIAA required courses are required within the first year of hire.
CONTRACT/STIPEND
Coaches are contracted for a term of one (1) year. Stipend amount will be disclosed prior to offer acceptance.
