Summary
Schoolcraft JR/SR High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our Varsity Softball program for the upcoming season. The head coach will be responsible for developing student-athletes' skills, fostering a positive team environment, and promoting sportsmanship and academic excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in softball, excellent leadership qualities, and a commitment to the overall development of student-athletes.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that enhances players’ skills and knowledge of the game.
- Organize and conduct daily practices, ensuring they are productive, safe, and engaging for all participants.
- Create game strategies and make decisions regarding player positions and tactics during competitions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes teamwork, respect, and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and any relevant issues.
- Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring they maintain eligibility and prioritize their education.
- Collaborate with other coaching staff and athletic department personnel to promote the softball program and enhance overall athletic offerings.
- Organize and oversee team fundraising activities and community service initiatives.
- Maintain equipment and facilities in accordance with safety standards and school policies.
- Attend all scheduled games, practices, and team meetings, and be available for additional team-related events as necessary.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or higher.
- Strong knowledge of the rules, strategies, and techniques of softball.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and motivational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school staff.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain prior to the season.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel for away games and tournaments.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and competitive athletic environment.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
