    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
    School calendar year; seasonal assignment in accordance with the TMCS athletic schedule. Evening, weekend, and travel requirements apply.

    RANGE OF SALARY:
    Stipend based on the current Belcourt School District #7 Extra-Curricular Salary Schedule and qualifications.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The High School Volleyball Coach provides leadership, supervision, and direction for the Turtle Mountain Community High School volleyball program. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting a competitive and educational volleyball program that promotes skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and character among student-athletes.

    The coach is expected to maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment for students while supporting the academic, behavioral, and athletic expectations of Turtle Mountain Community Schools. The High School Volleyball Coach works collaboratively with student-athletes, families, school staff, administration, and the Activities Department to operate a program that reflects district values, policies, and expectations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide leadership and direction for the high school volleyball program in alignment with district expectations, athletic policies, and school rules.
    Plan, organize, and conduct practices, competitions, and team activities that promote skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and appropriate conduct.
    Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and other assigned activities to ensure safety, accountability, and appropriate behavior.
    Develop practice plans and competitive strategies appropriate to the grade level, experience, and needs of student-athletes.
    Promote high expectations for attendance, academic performance, citizenship, and sportsmanship among team members.
    Communicate clearly and consistently with student-athletes, parents, administration, and the Activities Department regarding schedules, expectations, team rules, and program needs.
    Ensure compliance with district policies, North Dakota High School Activities Association requirements, and all other applicable rules, procedures, and eligibility standards.
    Maintain accurate records related to rosters, eligibility, participation, equipment, injuries, transportation, and other required athletic documentation.
    Work collaboratively with other coaches, staff, and administration to support the overall athletic program and school climate.
    Inventory, maintain, and properly oversee the use of uniforms, equipment, and assigned facilities.
    Complete all required district and activity-related trainings, certifications, and background check requirements prior to and during the season.
    Model professionalism, respect, integrity, and appropriate conduct at all times.
    Perform other duties as assigned by the Activities Director, Building Principal, or TMCS District Administration.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    High school diplomaor GED required
    Prior volleyball coaching experience or relevant volleyball playing/coaching background preferred.
    Experience working with high school students in an educational or athletic setting preferred.
    Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, player development, conditioning, and team organization.
    Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, parents, staff, and administration.
    Strong organizational, communication, supervision, and leadership skills.
    Must complete and maintain all required district and athletic certifications and trainings, which may include First Aid/CPR, concussion training, sudden cardiac arrest training, and other required safety trainings.
    Valid driver's license preferred and ability to meet district expectations related to travel supervision.
    Must pass a background check and meet all district employment requirements.
