We are currently looking for a Girls Softball Head Coach who will be responsible for coaching student athletes in competitive cheerleading techniques to prepare them for events and/or competitions. Position motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport. show school spirit during all events, exhibit sportsmanship, positive conduct, and high levels of academic achievement.

What You Will Do:

  • All head varsity coaches shall carefully supervise all their respective student-athletes, including lower-level teams.
  • All head varsity coaches are responsible for informing their staff at all levels of the current rules and regulations related to their sport as well as ECRCHS rules and procedures.
  • All head coaches will assist the Athletic Director in:
  • Scheduling
  • Transportation
  • CIF and league advisory meetings
  • Care, maintenance, and preparation of athletic facilities for practice and games.
  • All head coaches are responsible for:
  • Equipment – inventory, issuance and receiving, submitting purchase order requests, and care and maintenance of equipment.
  • Care and prevention of injuries.
  • Team Banquet and Awards.
  • Development of non-league schedule and managing a program budget.
  • Organize, oversee, and conduct all practice sessions. Cooperate with other coaches whenever facilities must be shared.
  • Confirm clearance of all athletes in their program.
  • Ensure all players and team personnel have an appropriate way home after the team has returned to the school.
  • Ensure all players understand training rules set up by the League, School, and team.
  • Report all training rule violations to the Athletic Director or Administrative Director of Student Services.
  • Develop, implement, and supervise procedures that ensure that the locker rooms are supervised and secured at all times.
  • Ensure all injuries are cared for in a professional manner including the notification of the school nurse and player’s parents, as well as fill out an accident report within 24 hours and submit it to the health Office and Human Resources. Ensure the student athlete is properly cleared with the nurse after an illness or injury.
  • Coordinate out-of-town trips with the Athletic Director.
  • Keep team statistics as are necessary for school records.
  • Develop criteria for earning awards in his/her sport and notify players of these criteria.
  • Complete and return any required forms to the Athletic Director.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings.
  • Follow all ECRCHS and CIF policies and procedures as stated in the coach handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Certification must be completed prior to the first after-school practice and renewed every two years thereafter.
  • Successful completion of the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course, required one time for all new coaches.
  • Successful completion of all required NFHS training courses, including:
  • Concussion in Sports
  • Heat Illness Prevention
  • Protecting Students from Abuse
  • Sportsmanship
  • Sudden Cardiac Arrest
  • Required NFHS courses must be renewed every two years, as applicable.
  • Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the sport's rules, regulations, strategies, techniques, and
  • fundamentals.
  • Experience working with student-athletes in a school or educational setting is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a safe, positive, and supportive environment for student-athletes.
