In June 2025, Athletes Unlimited launched Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL), a premier professional women’s softball league that models traditional “city-based” leagues (e.g. WNBA and NWSL) with commensurate operations and commercial activities. The five-year goal is to grow AUSL aggressively by adding additional teams in 2026 and beyond, converting to a fully city-based model, bringing in team owners, and building out ancillary business, fan, and partner engagement opportunities.

Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) is looking for local Strength & Conditioning Coaches to oversee aspects of development, implementation, and monitoring of strength and conditioning programs for their assigned team during the AUSL season. This position is seasonal, on-sight, and reports to the Head of Strength and Conditioning- Emily Guimond. Coaches will be required to report to training camp on May 24, 2026. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in design and implementation of in-season sports performance programs for softball athletes
  • Lead team lifts, game/practice warm ups & cool downs, and recovery sessions 
  • Provide any additional individual athlete performance requests (ex: extra conditioning session, pre-game activation, post travel mobility routine, etc.)
  • Advise athletes on proper methods and techniques for various forms of strength, speed, agility, and flexibility training, as well as rest, recovery, and nutrition
  • Utilize sports science technology to monitor athlete training load and wellness
  • Communicate and collaborate with the head of strength and conditioning throughout the season
  • Collaborate and assist medical staff with injury prevention, rehabilitation exercises, and return to pay programming and progressions
  • Communicate and collaborate with the sport coaching staff
  • Maintain accurate records of athlete performance progress
  • Assist fellow sports operations staff with moving in and out of different markets and any additional athlete/team logistics
  • Minimum of 3 years as a sports performance coach at the collegiate or professional levels
  • Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Health Sciences or related field
  • Current NSCA CSCS or CSCCa SCCC certification is required
  • Current CPR/AED Certified is required
  • Preferred additional credentials and certifications: USAW, FRC, PICP, APCC, FMS, NASM CES/PES, Nutritional Specialist or similar
  • Experience working directly with female athletes including but not limited to sport coverage of softball (baseball and or other AU Pro Sports preferred)
  • Extensive experience training elite athletes and knowledge of a wide range of sports
  • Experience with various programs and technologies (Google Apps, Excel, Teambuildr, Force Plates)
  • Proven experience running systems that collect, track, and analyze athlete data to enhance sports performance programs
  • Preference for candidates based in the following cities:
    • Rosemont, IL
    • Salt Lake City, UT
    • Oklahoma City, OK
    • Round Rock, TX
    • Durham, NC
    • Hillsboro, OR
  • Must be available from May 24, 2026 - July 28, 2026
  • Ability to travel and work weekends/non-traditional work hours
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

This role is seasonal, on-site, and is compensated at $18k over the 10 week period. While this is the intended salary, the actual compensation may vary based on several factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, and geographic location of the position. When not in your team's home city, travel, lodging, and meal expenses will also be covered by the AUSL.

As this is a seasonal position, traditional employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans are not included. 1099 Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and insurance coverage.
