Oakville Head Fastpitch Coach 2026/2027

Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Fastpitch Coach for the Oakville Middle School/High School for the 2026/2027 season. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fastpitch softball, demonstrating effective coaching techniques, leadership skills, and the ability to foster a positive team environment. This seasonal position will play a crucial role in developing student-athletes' skills, promoting teamwork, and enhancing their overall experience in the sport.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement practice plans and game strategies that enhance player skills and team performance.
- Conduct regular practices, ensuring that all athletes receive appropriate training and guidance.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and progress.
- Monitor and assess individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback to athletes.
- Organize and oversee team events, including games, tournaments, and team-building activities.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines during practices and games.
- Collaborate with assistant coaches and support staff to create a cohesive coaching strategy.
- Maintain accurate records of team performance, attendance, and player development.
- Act as a role model for student-athletes, promoting academic success and personal responsibility.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in fastpitch softball, desired.
- Strong knowledge of fastpitch softball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the season.
- A commitment to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field.
- Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
