Middle School Softball - Assistant Coach

MIDDLE SCHOOL SOFTBALL – ASSISTANT COACH      

Pace Academy is an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Ga., with an enrollment of 1,115 students in Pre-First through 12th grade. Pace is hiring an assistant head coach for the Middle School softball team for the 2026-2027 fall season. This position reports to the Head Softball Coach and Director of Athletics.

WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

A part-time, August-to-November seasonal appointment. Responsibilities include practices and games (between 2-3 hours per commitment) on Monday-Friday and possible weekend needs. All coaches are employed on an annual basis, and continued employment is based on a season review. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The assistant coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the softball program, including driving the team to practices/games (if needed). The assistant coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and the Metro 10, our Middle School league.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE: 

• Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Pace Academy 
• A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept 
• Softball experience and understanding of softball
• Effective leadership, coaching and recruiting skills
• Good communication skills with players, parents and the Athletics Department
• Energy, creativity, self-motivation and a team-player mentality

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Team coaching with the coaching staff daily
• Drives players to/from games, as needed
• Represents Pace Academy and the softball program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship

This is a temporary, seasonal position that is compensated with a coaching stipend.
