    Stipend Amount: $4,218 for 7th/8th Grade; or $2,929 for 6th Grade, as applicable

    Summary

    The Girls Volleyball Coach is responsible for building and maintaining a middle school volleyball program that promotes teamwork, skill development, sportsmanship, and leadership. The coach provides meaningful athletic experiences while helping student-athletes develop confidence, perseverance, and a commitment to personal and team success.

     

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Previous coaching and/or playing experience in volleyball preferred
    • Knowledge of middle school athletics and student development preferred
    • CPR/AED and First Aid certification required prior to the season

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead practices four days per week (Monday�Thursday) from approximately 3:35�5:00 p.m.
    • Coach all scheduled matches and tournaments.
    • Ride the athletic bus to away contests.
    • Teach volleyball fundamentals, offensive and defensive strategies, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
    • Create a positive and inclusive team culture.
    • Communicate effectively with students, families, administrators, and the Athletic Director.
    • Supervise students before, during, and after practices and competitions.
    • Maintain uniforms, equipment, and inventory.
    • Model professionalism and positive sportsmanship.
    • Follow all District, conference, and IESA rules and expectations.

     

    Experience and Knowledge

    • Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and instructional best practices.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to foster student growth and teamwork.

     

    Physical Demands

    • Ability to demonstrate volleyball skills during practices.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the gym.
    • Ability to lift and carry athletic equipment.

     

    Terms of Employment

    This is an extra-duty stipend position, compensated in accordance with Appendix B of the District 30 Education Association's Collective Bargaining Agreement.
