Position Summary:

The Middle School Girls Volleyball Assistant Coach is responsible for the organization, development, and supervision of a successful girls volleyball program. This includes: 

• fostering student growth, 
• promoting sportsmanship and citizenship, and 
• ensuring alignment with school, league, and state association expectations
• Commitment to building a positive and inclusive program culture.
• Emphasis on student development beyond competition (leadership, accountability, teamwork)
• Alignment with school and district values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organize and conduct practices, competitions, and/or events
• Instruct student participants in fundamental skills, strategy, and safety
• Promote academic success and appropriate student conduct
• Supervise students at all times during practices, contests, and travel
• Maintain compliance with school, district, and state regulations
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, administration, and staff
• Assist with equipment inventory, care, and budget awareness
• Model and enforce sportsmanship and ethical behavior
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development
• Support multi-sport/activity participation when appropriate
• Assist with teaching passing, setting, hitting, and serving fundamentals
• Help run drills and manage practice structure
• Support game-day coaching and supervision
• Promote teamwork and skill progression

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching or relevant experience preferred
• Knowledge of rules, techniques, and strategies of the activity
• Ability to work with middle school-aged students
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Must meet all district and state certification requirements (CPR, First Aid, coaching certifications, etc.)

Working Conditions:

• Seasonal position with evenings, weekends, and travel required
• Indoor and/or outdoor environments depending on activity
