About Black Desert Resort:

Black Desert Resort is a $2 billion luxury golf resort based in Ivins, Utah, consisting of over 500 hotel rooms in the Resort Center, over 1,000 condo units, and nearly 100 real estate lots. Additionally, Black Desert will include a water park, five restaurants with a variety for everyone, and other highly-rated amenities for our owners and guests, and community members. Designed by Tom Weiskopf, the Black Desert golf course is a championship-level course that currently plays host to the Bank of Utah Championship PGA Tour event in the fall-season and the Bank of Utah Championship LPGA Tour Event in the spring-season.

Job Summary:

The Marketing & Tournament Business Manager is responsible for executing marketing, communications, and social media strategies for the LPGA and PGA TOUR events at Black Desert Resort, while also supporting broader business initiatives and partner integration efforts.

This role supports the development and leads the execution of campaigns aimed at increasing brand visibility, driving ticket and sponsorship sales, boosting fan engagement, and generating media coverage across digital platforms, social media, paid advertising, earned media, charitable initiatives, and off-course activations. It plays a vital role in tournament business operations through close collaboration with Reef marketing, tournament operations, sponsorship sales, resort teams, and external partners. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Tournament Business.

Additional responsibilities include project management, tracking deliverables and sales activity, and optimizing internal systems to improve workflow efficiency and execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic marketing and branding plans to drive awareness, ticket sales, sponsorships, and fan engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership, Reef marketing teams, and external agencies to create audience-focused campaigns and enhance tournament visibility.
  • Oversee paid media strategy across all channels (TV, radio, digital, print, social), including planning, execution, optimization, and performance tracking.
  • Manage the tournament's social media strategy, content calendar, and creative development across all major platforms; collaborate on funnels, retargeting, and boosted posts.
  • Support photo/video content creation and maintain a visual asset database in coordination with creative teams.
  • Lead email marketing efforts, including campaign development, content creation, scheduling, and performance tracking for fans, partners, and volunteers.
  • Collaborate with web and ticketing teams to maintain up-to-date digital platforms, improve user experience, and ensure consistent ticketing communications.
  • Manage Ticketmaster Account Manager content, including graphics and automated emails
  • Ensure fulfillment of digital, print, and on-site sponsor deliverables; support sponsorship activations through digital and on-course content
  • Develop collateral and creative assets including signage, hospitality materials, course maps, and the Official Spectator Guide
  • Coordinate credential design and distribution for staff, sponsors, VIPs, and media
  • Work with PR and media partners on tournament promotion, earned media, press events, and tournament week activities
  • Serve as a liaison among the tournament, Reef, Black Desert Resort, and marketing/ticketing/partnership teams
  • Track and amplify LPGA/PGA TOUR news, player milestones, and local brand-aligned content in real time
  • Coordinate with PGA TOUR and LPGA marketing teams on execution of Official Marketing Partner agreements
  • Leverage community and nonprofit partnerships to support shared goals and messaging

Qualifications:

  • Experience in marketing, brand management, or event promotion, preferably in sports, live events, or entertainment industries
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing integrated marketing and branding strategies to drive awareness, ticket sales, sponsorships, and audience engagement
  • Background in multi-channel paid media planning and execution, including TV, radio, digital, social, and print
  • Proficient in managing social media strategy, content calendars, audience targeting, and performance analytics across major platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn).
  • Experience developing and executing email marketing campaigns, including list segmentation, content development, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a sharp eye for detail and brand consistency.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, external agencies, sponsors, community organizations, and media partners.
  • Exceptional project management, organizational, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work two days per week from our office at Black Desert Resort; in-person requirement increases with all employees expected to be in the office or on-site at the course throughout tournament months of April/May & Sept/Oct
