We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manager, Community Basketball to join our team. In this high-impact role, you will support all facets of Community Basketball for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury and Valley Suns, while playing a key role in broader department initiatives.
What You Will Do:
Program Design & Curriculum
- Develop and implement age-appropriate basketball curriculum, drills, and skills progressions for clinics and camps
- Design structured plans and event flow to ensure engaging, organized, and high-energy experiences
- Create themed programming and special events including Fantasy Camps, World Basketball Day, Coaches Clinics, grassroots park activations, and school-based clinics
- Continually innovate programming to improve participant experience and skill development
Participant Experience & Brand Representation
- Deliver a best-in-class experience for players, parents, and coaches
- Model professionalism and positive energy while representing the Suns and Mercury brands
- Provide on-site leadership, coaching, and supervision during all events
- Gather feedback to improve future programming
Marketing & Engagement Support
- Collaborate with Marketing to promote programs and increase participation
- Support storytelling efforts by capturing photos, testimonials, and success stories
- Assist with fan engagement initiatives tied to clinics and events
What We Need from Our Manager, Community Basketball:
- Strong organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for community engagement and social impact
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-service mindset with professionalism and responsiveness
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and events as required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory or tracking systems. Must be extremely detail-oriented, intuitive, a self-starter, diplomatic, have the ability to manage projects & events, and work with minimal supervision
Experience/ Education Requirements:
- At least 4 years in youth sports, sports business, community programming, or related field
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Recreation Management, or related field
- Valid driver's license

- This position works mainly indoors, removed from extreme weather; exposure to weather is <5%
